IPSART 1996-2006

For almost a decade, this web space was home to Ipsart, a site about the visual arts in Ipswich, Suffolk, UK. I haven't done much with the site in recent years and, for the moment, have decided to close it rather than leave it to become increasingly out of date and misleading. (When I get the time I'll have a go at reworking the old content into a somewhat different form.)

A good alternative site for information about the visual arts in Ipswich is Visual Arts Ipswich (run by Ipswich Borough Council). It has a listing of public sculpture that after only a year is already streets ahead of anything that I ever managed with Ipsart.

Ipswich now has an increasingly active artist-led space called Key Arts based at St Mary-at-the-Quay Church near the docks. Their website has details of what looks to be an interesting programme of events.

If you have arrived here thinking that Ipsart might be connected to the Ipswich Arts Festival it isn't, but don't worry because you can go there directly using the link.

Finally, if you want to see what Ipsart was like at different points during its development it can be found on the WayBackWhen archive. For pages in this century search for www.ipsart.org.uk, and for older material from the late 1990s search for www.ipsart.demon.co.uk.
